SMS Appointment Reminder Policy

At Pacific Vascular, Inc., our mission is to continue leading the way in providing the highest-quality, noninvasive vascular ultrasound services cost-effectively. One of our main philosophies is to set the standard for patient service and responsiveness. Therefore, we proudly offer SMS appointment reminders to our patients who choose this platform to remind them of their upcoming ultrasound appointments. We are committed to protecting our patient’s PHI, and the steps we will take to honor that commitment are listed below.

COLLECTION OF PHONE NUMBERS

When scheduling your ultrasound, we will ask for your cell phone number. We will then ask your preference on the type of reminder for your appointment, i.e., text, email, or phone call. If you or your representative voluntarily tell us you opt-in for reminder texts, we will note that in the order, confirm your phone number, and send you an initial text message. Your response to that initial message confirms you have signed up for appointment reminders, and you will always have the option to opt out at any time.

USE OF PHONE NUMBERS FOR SMS

We will use your phone number to send you information regarding your ultrasound appointment. We will limit the amount of PHI in that message. The reminder message will include the date/time, location, link to location directions, and phone number should you need further assistance. You will have the option to confirm, reschedule, or cancel your appointment. Your carrier may apply SMS messaging charges. We will only share your phone number with our SMS provider, subject to their privacy policy.

OPTING OUT OF REMINDER MESSAGING

If at any time you wish to stop receiving appointment reminders from us, you can opt out by:

Texting STOP to opt out.

PRIVACY OF PHONE NUMBERS

Once you have opted out, we will not send you any more SMS messages or sell or transfer your phone number to another party.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may periodically update this policy. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns about this policy, please feel free to contact us at (800) 282-6516.
